This notice describes Aurell for Mac, this website, and the software update service. Public checkout is not yet available.

Your work data and optional iCloud sync

Aurell stores clients, projects, hourly rates, and sessions on your device. Local backups remain important; protect your devices and maintain backups of important records.

You can enable iCloud sync of your work records through your private iCloud database. The public app uses Apple’s production CloudKit environment. Billing secrets and recovery keys are not part of those work records. Sync requires an available iCloud account and is not enabled by default.

Sync runs while the app is open. A session running on another device is read-only and remains controlled by the device that started it. Conflicting edits are retained for review rather than silently discarding a version. Account changes pause sync until reviewed. Check the sync status in Settings to confirm when your records last synced.

Software updates

Aurell uses Sparkle to check for updates at updates.aurell.app. Automatic update checks are on by default and can be turned off in Settings. These requests let the update service receive ordinary connection information, including your IP address, and app or system version information used to deliver compatible updates. Installing an update requires your approval. Your clients, projects, rates, and sessions are not sent in update checks.

This website

This static website does not include analytics scripts, advertising trackers, cookies, signup forms, or payment collection. Cloudflare hosts this website and the software update endpoint. Cloudflare may process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and protect these services.

Optional checkout and license verification

Public checkout is not open. The planned paid options are a $4.99 monthly Pro subscription through Stripe and perpetual Pro access for a one-time Bitcoin payment equivalent to $99 USD through the merchant’s BTCPay Server. The BTC amount is quoted at checkout, and lifetime access is granted after payment settles.

If you choose a paid plan, checkout and license verification require purchase information separate from your local work records. This may include your email address, customer or account identifiers, payment or invoice identifiers, payment status, and license status. Stripe or the merchant’s BTCPay Server handles the relevant payment information. Aurell’s licensing service uses the information needed to verify and activate access; client names, project details, rates, and time entries are not needed for that verification.

License verification is not usage analytics. The app does not include usage analytics. Provider details, retention periods, purchase terms, and privacy rights will be documented before public checkout becomes available. No discount-code redemption is available on this website.

Changes to this notice

This notice will be updated when Aurell’s services change, including before public checkout opens. This website does not collect early-access signups.
